Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a focus on the present moment, on things happening right now. It is a state of active, open awareness to the here and now. When you're mindful, you intentionally observe your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Instead of letting life and moments pass by, mindfulness means living in the present and awakening to experiences as they occur, rather than dwelling on the past or anticipating the future. Each person possesses the capacity for mindfulness, and through daily practice we can draw more readily upon it.
Meditation
Meditation is self-acceptance. Through meditation, practitioners enter the quietness already in the mind. It is a practice in which the individual focuses their mind and intention upon the present moment.
Yoga and Mindful Movement
Yoga and mindful movement are forms of meditation - meditation in action. Yoga and mindful movement emphasize breath awareness, conscious and slow movement, and a connection through understanding the relationship of body, breath, and mind. Movement is intentional, gentle, and unforced, with practitioners honoring the limits of the body in that moment.
