Lisa Patterson Raterman

 

Lisa Patterson Raterman, BSN, RN, CCRN, is involved in the Brown University Mindfulness Center-College of Medicine to further MBSR Certification. Lisa is a Trained Teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion. She is a trained and certified Meditation Specialist(R) since 2012 and is the Founder of Working Mindfulness LLC and Mindful-RN.

Lisa worked as a trauma, ER, ICU and Flight Nurse in several tertiary care centers. She transitioned to the corporate world as a leading Sales Consultant for Fortune 20 companies, selling to Orthopedic Surgeons and Neurosurgeons. She consistently achieved target sales numbers and maintained President’s Club status year over year. 

Lisa became a Registered Rep and Financial Advisor at the Omega Group for Oppenheimer Inc., and a Managing Director for a boutique financial firm in Chicago.   Lisa and her husband, Tom, also owned a BD/RIA providing Alternative Investments. 

Lisa has trained physicians, nurses, and physical therapists in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS.)

Lisa is adjunct faculty at DePaul University’s Health and Wellness department, teaching Mindfulness and Meditation for Stress-Reduction to undergrads. She is an informed Strengths Finder Facilitator, providing programming to working professionals. She has educated numerous groups, helping people grow and explore personally and professionally by focusing on and building upon their natural talents.

Her broad experience in myriad industries has uniquely positioned her to fully advise the 21st century professional, student, and individual from all walks of life. She believes deeply in the positive and transformative power of meditation and mindfulness.

Lisa earned her Registered Nursing and Bachelor of Science degrees at the University of Iowa, specializing in pediatric and family care.

Lisa has volunteered extensively. She founded the Clement Moms Group at her parish, Saint Clement. She and her husband, Tom, brought Children’s Liturgy of the Word to their church. She co-directs Interfaith Chicago, working to build bridges and foster dialogue between faith groups. She volunteers with UCAN, a residential youth home in North Lawndale, Chicago. Lisa and Tom volunteer with JDRF, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, to support their daughter, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 8.
